This year, Paris Retail Week is resolutely focused on all the transformations taking place in its ecosystem, in line with consumer expectations.

The initiatives to be developed around the crucial theme of the green economy are multiplying, forcing retail sites to constantly adapt and reinvent themselves... sustainably.

This approach also applies to the show, which is committed to organising a more responsible event. Paris Reatil Week is encouraging its exhibitors and visitors to be agents of change by adopting greener practices when they attend.

Here is an overview of the actions implemented to optimise eco-design, support the circular economy, reduce the carbon footprint and raise awareness among our participants to act more responsibly!

Responsible actions
As an event organiser, we have a responsibility to limit the environmental impact of our exhibitions and conferences. But to achieve this ambition, we need your help!

What responsible visitors do
As a major event in the distribution and e-commerce sector, we have a responsibility to limit the environmental impact of our show. But for this ambition to succeed, we need your help!

Transport

AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Come by public transport, carpool or bike if you can.
For example, going from Paris Gare du Nord to Paris Expo Porte de Versailles emits 0.04 kg eq CO2 by metro, compared with 4.4 kg eq CO2 for the same journey by combustion engine car.
There are also 18 charging points for electric cars.
To find out the carbon impact of your journey, use the ADEME comparator!

Consommation

THE RIGHT REFLEXES
To keep hydrated, water fountains are available in the show's washrooms.
Be careful about what you consume at the show, to avoid wastage.
Remember to use the sorting bins provided, which will then enable the waste to be recycled.
Whenever possible, opt for a lunch with local, seasonal and/or organic ingredients.
For example, a tomato grown in a greenhouse out of season produces 8 times more CO2 emissions than a seasonal tomato grown in the garden.

Communication

A COMMITTED PROGRAMME
As part of our commitment to CSR, we are implementing a programme of concrete actions to promote a more sustainable and responsible business model:

  • Conferences on CSR: the rise of the second-hand market, the transformation of retail sites, etc.
  • CSR business issues: Paris Retail Week will be highlighting the importance of CSR, a key issue for retailers, with practical solutions to support their transition to more responsible and sustainable models.
  • Eco-responsible exhibitors: We are honouring exhibitors committed to eco-responsible practices.
  • Parity mentoring: Paris Retail Week encourages parity by setting up mentoring programmes that promote equality
  • Carrefour SRE: Carrefour SRE is taking part in our event by sharing its expertise on the integration of CSR issues.
  • Café Joyeux: In partnership with Café Joyeux, we are supporting social inclusion by giving visibility to this company which employs people with disabilities.
